The poll is a bit unfair as all are true.

Love the Cure and that song, but it wasn't even on my radar until the later 80s (after the release of "Standing on a Beach" and "The Head on the Door"). Pat Benetar is great, but that song is all about the video. I cannot stand "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," one of the sing-songiest songs to sing-song. Horrible song.

So, Cyndi, my girl! for the win, Sonny! She was a breath of fresh air, she didn't take herself as seriously as Madonna (videos with wrestlers? songs about masturbation? kooky hair and style? sign me up!). I still love the entire album "She's So Unusual" which was one of my first cassettes.

Thank you for the work that goes into these polls! I look forward to them every week!

I went with the Cure because Its one of my Favorite Bands but in defense of Tears for Fears the song Mad World is the best song regarding the hideous crime of child abuse.

Godspeed, everyone.

I wanted to vote for The Cure, strictly because I love the band, but I love Cyndi too, so it is all win win. I recently watched a mini documentary about Everybody Wants to Rule the World and the band member who wrote the song said the original lyrics were "everybody wants to go to war". Also, fun fact, the band felt dismissive about the song but one of the band member's wives convinced them to take the track seriously. Another fun question Sonny. Thanks! I do just wanna have fun damnit.

This week's poll was a tough one! I had to choose between Cyndi Lauper and Robert Smith!! WTH.
